Definition
A six-digit numerical code the Internal Revenue Service assigns to classify businesses by the main type of activity they conduct, to help administer the Internal Revenue Code. For example, 325620 identifies dental floss manufacturing. In format, they are similar to the codes issued by the North American Industry Classification System.
