business rules
Definition 1
Reengineering: Usually unwritten assumptions and set ways of working that become apparent when business processes are analyzed and documented. Business rules (such as when to accept or deny credit, when and how to hire or fire employees, when to restock inventory) result from the way a firm perceives and uses information. These rules in turn determine how the firm functions and conducts its business.
Definition 2
Data: Statement that imposes a constraint on the selection, relationships, and structure of the data elements in a database.
