catastrophe equity put option
Definition
Contingent capital arrangement that gives the option's seller the right to purchase a certain number of its purchaser's shares at a fixed price in case a specified catastrophe occurs, and receive a commitment fee from the purchaser. The purchaser gets the right to access the seller's capital when it is critically required.
