chain weighted CPI
Definition
A measurement used as an alternative to the Consumer Price Index that removes any biases related to new products, any changes in quality, and discounted pricing. The chain weighted CPI incorporates the average chances in the quantity of products purchases, in addition to the standard pricing effects. This will allow for reflection of situations when customers shift the load of their purchases from one area of spending to a different area.
