Definition
The transporting of cargo or people who have contracted to have exclusive use of a vehicle, aircraft, or vessel at a fixed rate, under one contract, for a specified itinerary; for example, a school might charter a bus to carry students to a location for a field trip. The students would have exclusive use of the bus for the time contracted.
