Use of charts in analysis and forecasting of stockmarket or commodity market prices and trends. 'Chartists' use bar charts, point-and-finger charts, candlestick charts, etc., to plot factors such as average price movement, highs and lows of prices, open interest, settlement prices, volume of trading.
