coded factors
Definition
The replacement of factor values in an experiment design with simpler values, typically -1 and +1, in order to determine the influence of each factor on the outcome of a business process on a simplified numerical basis. Simplifying the statistical treatment allows the experiment design to focus on the relationships between factors without having to perform experimental runs for a wide range of values.
