commercial agent
Definition
Agent who solicits and procures business from potential customers on behalf of one or more principals, usually against payment of a percentage of the realized sales revenue as commission. Foreign commercial agents are protected under the laws of their home country against unfair termination of the agency agreement. Also called commission agent. See also mercantile agent.
