comparable profits method
Definition
A method of determining whether the profits made in a transaction are comparable to profits made in similar arm's length transactions between unrelated parties. The IRS uses this method to determine whether the parties in a transaction are reporting profits that are significantly lower than would be expected for the type of transaction.
