consequential metrics

Definition

Metrics that can be used to detect and measure possible negative side effects that may result from Six Sigma projects or other process improvement initiatives. While a process improvement project may improve performance or quality in terms of certain metrics, tracking consequential metrics enables process improvement practitioners to determine if any problems or process defects have been unintentionally created.
