1. State of not having an immediate ending. For example, a union may tell union workers that negotiation meetings have been continuing on for months, days, or in some cases, years, with no end in sight.
2. Occurring in a cyclical or repetitious pattern without pause; without ceasing or stopping. Supervisors may advise subordinates that continuing to observe safety rules by wearing helmets may prevent accidents.
