Definition
Metal-forming technique in which a semi-finished product (such as a billet, bloom, ingot, slab, strip, or tube) is continuously solidified while being pored in a mold, and its length is not dependent on the mold's dimensions. Continuous casting obviates the need for rolling mills and generates a product with more uniform chemical composition and mechanical properties.
