1. A group of subjects or conditions that is matched as closely as possible with an experimental group, but is not exposed to any experimental treatment. A control group is used as a standard against which to detect and measure changes that may occur in the experimental group due to experimental treatment.
2. The people in an organization who have the power to make and implement decisions.
