1. Product manufactured along with a different product, in a process in which both are required in the production of another product. In comparison, a by-product is usually an undesirable product.
2. Jointly manufactured product, such as the Ariane rocket and Airbus aircraft both of which are manufactured by a consortium of European firms scattered all over the continent. See coproduction for details.
