1. Retail: Any aisle which intersects with the main aisle at an angle, usually 90 degrees.
2. Architecture: An aisle in front of a seating section, such as in an arena or theater, which allows patrons to move to and from the entrance and exit aisles. In a church, it can refer to an aisle which intersects the main isle to form the shape of the cross.
