Definition
Quarter-inch high and 26 millimeter diameter single-use metal closure, with a corrugated skirt. Used primarily in high speed glass-bottle capping machines in the carbonated beverage industry, it provides an air tight seal when crimped over the neck. Made commonly of tin-plated steel, it comes with a cork or plastic liner and is removed with a prying tool to open the bottle.
