data synchronization
Definition
Accurate reconstruction and/or re-sequencing of data to ensure its integrity, upon its restoration after a disaster or interruption. Since data is collected at different times (and from different sources) during a data backup cycle, restored data must be brought to a state that existed at a certain moment before the disaster or interruption occurred. Data synchronization requires availability of printed or electronic records containing data up to that moment.
data synchronization is in the Data Management, Communications, & Networks, Disaster Planning & Risk Management, Information Science & Technology and Statistics, Mathematics, & Analysis subjects.
