deed of arrangement
Definition
Agreement between an insolvent debtor and consenting creditors as a more advantageous alternative to the debtor's bankruptcy. It may take the form of a deed of assignment, deed of composition, deed of inspectorship, or a letter of leniency. See also scheme of arrangement.
