dependent care benefits
Definition
Benefits provided by employers for care of dependents. These include paid leaves for dependent care, child and dependent care tax credits and dependent care flexible spending accounts. For dependent care benefits to be available to an individual, the dependent must be a natural or adopted child and the parent pay more than fifty percent of his expenses. This is also applicable to a child of which a person has legal guardianship.
