derivative trust
Definition
Trust that follows (is derived from) another trust so that the beneficiaries of the main trust become the trustees of the derived trust. For example, A and B manage a trust fund for C and D who, in due course, declare themselves to be the trustees of the same trust fund for the benefit of their own children. Also called sub trust.
