Definition
Animated computer graphics resembling humans, cartoon characters, etc., that is selected and controlled by the visitor to a website, to represent him or her in the tour of the site. Future applications of this technology include 'salespeople' who will demonstrate or show goods to the visitor, and help him or her in selecting items to buy. Also called avatar or place holder.
