dormant firm
Definition
Firm that for a prolonged period has no significant financial transactions. The owners of a dormant firm may pass a special resolution that exempts it from the requirements of appointing auditors and having its accounts audited. However, a dormant firm is not exempt from its statutory obligations such as filing its annual returns with the appropriate government agency.
