dot pitch

Definition

Measure of the distance between each adjoining pixel on a color computer monitor, expressed in millimeters (mm). Lower the dot pitch the sharper the displayed image; modern color monitors come with a dot pitch of 0.28 mm or lower. Monochrome monitors, by definition, have a dot pitch of 0, and therefore the sharpest image. See also pixel.
