dual class stock
Definition
Stock in a company that issues two kinds of stock. The stocks may be preferred or common and each kind has different rights attached to it. Preferred stocks are guaranteed to the dividends but do not have the right to vote while common stocks are only entitled to dividends after the preferred stockholders have their share; however, common stocks have the right to vote during annual meetings.
