employee profit sharing plan (EPSP)
Definition
Employee benefit scheme in which an employer contributes to a trust account which is usually deductible from taxable income. The employees are taxed on the employer's contributions and the interest earned on the trust account, but are not taxed when they leave the plan and receive its benefits (such as upon retirement). See also employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).
