1. Alteration made to a bill of materials by (1) adding or deleting an item (assembly, sub-assembly, component, or material), (2) substituting an item with another, or (3) changing the usage of an item.
2. Alteration made in the functional, maintenance, performance, or physical characteristics of a system. Also called task change.
