Definition
The individual or company officially recognized by U.S. Customs as being involved in the export of a specific shipment of products out of the United States. Having The exporter of record status makes a company responsible for obtaining export clearance and for complying with U.S. export regulations, thereby exposing uncooperative exporters to enforcement action by U.S. Customs.
