Definition
Financial statement aimed at informing outside parties (such as investors, lenders, suppliers) the financial position of a firm (through the balance sheet) and the results of its operations (through the income statement), and other relevant information. Although internal statements use the same financial measurements and accounting methods, they are designed to provide detailed information to help the firm's management in its control and decision making.
