fixed term tenancy
Definition
Tenancy that automatically (without notice of termination) expires at the end of the period stated in the lease agreement. It, however, is not affected by the death of either the tenant or the landlord, and is not terminated by destruction or improvement of the property during that period unless the agreement permits. Also called tenancy for years.
