flexography
Definition
Commercial printing method in which resilient photo-polymer printing plates are used like rubber stamps to transfer fast-drying inks to roll-fed paper or other material. Flexography is suitable primarily for printing labels, cartons, and flexible packaging, but is unsuitable for fine printing such as reproduction of color photographs. See also gravure printing.
