1. Document design: Vertical alignment of text. Flush-left (or align-left) text is aligned along the left margin of the page. Flush-right (or align-right) text is aligned along the right margin of the page.

2. Selling: Amount allocated for sales commissions but remaining unpaid because no salesperson is 'qualified' (has not generated the required volume of sales) to receive it. This amount is 'flushed back' into the firm's cash flow.
