gasohol
Definition
Mixture of nine parts of unleaded gasoline by volume with one part of ethanol (ethyl alcohol) derived from fermented agricultural produce (such as corn). Though the octane number of gasohol is almost equal to that of gasoline, it produces a lower amount of carbon oxide emissions. The term 'Gasohol' is a registered trademark or the Nebraska Gasohol Committee which allows its free use only for blends containing ethanol but no other alcohol.
