general linear model (GLM)

Definition

A linear model used in statistical analysis of datasets. The general linear model is used to test hypotheses in statistical experiments, and is used to factor in known quantities, estimates, and noise or other sources of error. Hypothesis tests performed using the general linear model may be either univariate or multivariate.
