Definition
Washington, DC based international, non-profit, private organization sponsored by major central, commercial, and investment banks. Established in 1978, it comprises of very senior banking and business executives and academicians who meet every six months to discuss important economic, financial, and policy issues concerned mainly with settlement of domestic and international securities transactions.
