Definition
An insurance program that reimburses victims for costs incurred as a result of identity theft, and also provides comprehensive information on how to resolve legal matters and clear credit reports in such an event. Reimbursable costs may include notarized affidavits, lost earnings and legal fees associated with the theft. This program may be offered as an employee benefit, as part of homeowner's insurance, or purchased individually.
