incremental marketing
Definition
The gradual increase in marketing expenditure over time. A company will typically break down their long term marketing budget into smaller components such as monthly payments, individual project budgets, or pending successful completion of a milestone. Using this strategy, the release of more funds (or the next step) is dependent on achieving the goals of the previous step.
