interim audit procedures
Definition
Procedures set in place to examine a company's financial records on a periodic basis (i.e. quarterly) to ensure that a company is adhering to its goals before the end of its fiscal year. During the interim audit, financial records and statements are verified to ascertain correct accounting of company money and that all transactions are in compliance with federal regulations.
