internet stock
Definition
An equity share of a publicly traded company, also known as a dot-com company, that generates its revenue from activities associated with internet commerce or web-based technology. Trading in internet stocks reached a feverish pitch in the late 1990s leading to a technology bubble that resulted in the destruction of many over-hyped dot-com companies.
