To become use to something unpleasant, usually through repeated exposure which is unable to be avoided. "Originally, he couldn't stand the smell coming from the factory across the street from his house, but after he lived there for several months he became inure to the smell and hardly even noticed it." Also, frequently used in contracts in the phrase ‘inure to the benefit of.' This phrase is equivalent to simply saying ‘benefit'.
