1. General: Reflects the value of an asset to its owner, depending on his or her expectations and requirements.
2. Convertible security: Computed from the estimate of the market price it would sell at if it were 'straight' (did not have the conversion feature).
3. Derivative: Computed from the value of the underlying asset. Also called straight value or value to owner.
