invoice discounting
Definition
A method to draw loans from a company's outstanding invoices that does not require the company to relinquish administrative control of the invoices. An invoice discounting company will review the outstanding invoices on the company's ledger, and will determine the amount of loans that it will extend. Because the money is loaned, the company will be responsible for interest payments, as well as a fee to the invoice discounting company.
