joint endorsement
Definition
An endorsement by two or more people required to sign checks drawn from a joint account, or for checks payable to more than one party with a joint account. This is meant to prevent one party in a joint account from sending or receiving funds without the other party's knowledge or consent. Cashing U.S. government issued checks such as tax returns commonly requires such endorsement.
