lifetime reserve days
Definition
The number of days an insured party is allowed to stay in the hospital at a time. There are typically 90 days per coverage period that are allowed under a Medicare policy. An additional 30 days is set aside in a lifetime reserve to be used once during a lifetime in the case of a needed extension in hospital care.
