Definition
The probability of an event or situation taking place. Likelihood is an informal way of discussing the likeliness that something will happen, without specific reference to numerical probability. Likelihood is typically used to refer to events that have a reasonable probability of occurring, but are not definite or may be influenced by factors not yet observed or measured.
