Definition
A system with the capability of tracking supplies and inventory during transport and storage. Modern locator systems generally include GPS tracking and providing real time status for vehicles carrying product. Managers can use the data provided by a locator system to adjust their activities depending on the status of these items in transport. RFID or optical sensors may be used as part of a locator system within a warehouse.
