Definition
A list of physical mailing address that may include names, phone numbers, household income levels, and geographical location. A mailing list may be utilized to send advertisements or other relevant information to individuals included on the list. For example, a company may acquire a mailing list that only includes people that do the majority of their shopping over the Internet, so that they could mail them offers that pertain to online shopping. Some companies rent mailing lists for a designated cost and some create their own list through business interactions. See also electronic mailing list.
