Definition
Professional liability cover (for doctors, surgeons, nurses, and hospitals) that pays for the defense of the insured in lawsuits (whether or not the insured was at fault) and levied damages, if any, up to a specified limit. Other professionals (such as accountants, consultants, engineers) generally carry errors and omissions liability insurance or professional liability insurance.
