market differentiation
Definition
A promotional method employed by a business to create an especially strong presence in a particular market. When using market differentiation, a manufacturer might produce several variations on a basic product to be marketed under the same brand in order to give itself a greater range of coverage and hence promote a sense of dominance within that market.
