Definition
A set of defined stages through which marketing information is collected. Typical steps include: 1) identifying and defining the need or problem; 2) developing an approach to serving the need or solving the problem; 3) designing the research framework; 4) conducting data collection (called "field work"); 5) preparing the data for analysis; and 6) reporting the analysis.
