maternity rights
Definition
Statutory rights of pregnant workers, generally including (1) paid time off for pre-delivery (antenatal) examinations, (2) material leave of (commonly) 14 weeks, (3) preservation of contract of employment during maternity leave, (4) payment of at least normal sick-pay rate during maternity leave, and (5) no dismissal for any cause related to pregnancy.
